There are two things I love. Those two things are passive and automation. Tailwind can be passive and automated. Tailwind is my go to tool for distributing my blog’s content on Pinterest and is also my tool for increasing blog traffic and sales.
Traffic is the key to any business. When you have more traffic, you have more sales. There are two ways to get traffic and that is through organic and paid traffic. Organic traffic is the best kind of traffic. Organic traffic is attained by a business when someone is searching for a solution to a problem. That means someone searching is usually considered a warm or hot lead and are more inclined to buy because they have a problem that needs to be solved. Pinterest is the only social media platform with majority of its users having the intention to buy.
Pinterest is unlike the other social media platforms. Because Pinterest is an evergreen searchable platform, blog posts have the potential to appear on Pinterest search at any time. Once content is posted on other social media platforms, it most likely will never resurface again. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat require fresh new content daily in order for your profile to show up to more people. Those platforms are also not searchable. People on those platforms are not looking to buy either, they are there to socialize.
If you want to build a passive income business, then Pinterest paired with Tailwind is a must because you can be found through a search without having to post new content daily. Posting new content daily is a lot of work, and if you are going to post new content daily, it might as well be on a platform that is searchable, evergreen, and one that creates passive income for you. Setting up your Pinterest account
Before using Tailwind, you want to make sure that you have a Pinterest account and that has been verified. You will get a code from Pinterest to put on your website to be verified. Once your site has been approved, any pins you pin will have your site in bold and be a Rich Pin. Rich Pins provide more context because they show extra information directly on a Pin. There are four types of Rich Pins: app, product, recipe and article.
Creating new boards for your business
After having your site verified by Pinterest, you’ll need to create different boards within your niche so that you can pin all your blog post to them. Try having at least 5-10 boards so you can share your pins to multiple boards. You can do this by clicking ‘Create Board’ from your profile. Make sure these boards have keywords related to you niche that others can understand.
How to use Tailwind
When you log in to Tailwind, you will be taken to your Dashboard where you will see all your latest stats. To schedule your pins from your blog, you’ll have to navigate to the left and click ‘Schedule’ under ‘Publisher’. You can manually schedule your pins by clicking ‘Create New Pin’. You can also download the Tailwind Google Chrome plugin so you can just click the plugin button while viewing your site and schedule the pin to your Tailwind.
Joining Group Boards
On Pinterest, you have the ability to join in on Group Boards. These are boards for collaboration and have a set of rules to follow. Most of these boards have the rule to only pin once a day. By using Group Boards, your pins contributed to the board have more chances of being seen and repined by other members of the board as well as other followers of that particular board. Once you’ve joined a Group Board, you will have the option to schedule pins to it with Tailwind. To pin to the Group Board, you just have to find the group name when scrolling through your list of boards. They will have a little group icon next to them to differentiate from your regular boards.
Joining Tailwind Tribes
Tailwind Tribes is one of the best reasons to join Tailwind. It’s with Tailwind Tribes that pins go viral. When you are in a tribe, you can pin your content in there, but at the same time, you must pin other people’s content from there. The rule is usually that you can pin one of your content for every one pin of another person’s content.
Tailwind Tribes is how to generate and spike traffic fast because everyone is working on one goal, and that is to pin and share content. Tailwind Tribes is very different from pinning to your own boards because when you are pinning to your own board, only your followers see it at first and anyone who does a search for a certain keyword. Pinning to your own boards could take a while for people to start pinning it to their own boards. With Tailwind tribes, Tribe members are looking to pin other people’s content to their own boards. When they share your content to their boards, then you have the immediate reach from their followers too. If 10 Tribe members shared one of your pins and they each had a following of 10,000, that’s a potential 100,000 reach for one of your pins. It is from Tailwind Tribes that I always have at least one viral pin a month that spikes my traffic.
The Tailwind subscription plan allows you to join up to 5 Tailwind Tribes and be able to post 30 pins a month to the Tribes. If you are really serious about sending traffic to your blog, you will want to upgrade your Tailwind Tribes subscription, as it is so beneficial to having your pins go viral. Creating graphics for Pinterest
To create graphics for Pinterest, you will need to use a graphics program. I personally use Adobe Illustrator to make my graphics because I am a designer and I can make multiple pin graphics in one window real quickly. If you don’t have the Adobe Creative Suite, you can use Canva, which is a free program online. Graphics for Pinterest should be a 2:3 ratio. Most people use 600×900 for their pin size. Pinterest likes to have graphics this size. You can also play around with graphic sizes to see if there is a difference in your stats when you use a different size.
